OTA-18 but with echo for non-lavender caller
-
I can confirm this issue. This echo happens on every RN7 I tried so far. Unfortunately always using headphones isn't really an option for me. Has anyone found any other solution for this?
-
@wurst Have you tried switching to the RC channel ? , go to System Settings, under Updates you see the software that can be updated, in settings you can switch to the RC channel,
On OTA 20 stable and RC I don't have that issue. -
@josele13 Thank you for your answer! I was already on RC but I switched back to stable (OTA 20) just to test it, but no sucess. If I call somebody and put the speaker on, the other person always hears his voice double.

@oskar_seehund
From what I understand you experience this echo when you activate the loud speaker.
Have you tried to lower the volume a bit to see if that's better for your contact? -
@AppLee Thank you for your answer. I will try to do so and see if it gets better. Still this leads directly to next obstacle: the volume level of the loudspeakers is very low (in telephone calls) and I cannot turn it louder. You always need a quiet room otherwise you wouldn't understand the person on the other side. Maybe these two problems are linked with each other.

I don't know if it's related.
But I doubt there is a lot to do on Ubuntu Touch's side.
Do you know how it behave on Android?To adjust the volume, you can try with uVolMan in the OpenStore.
Just a bit curious there, but why would you put a call on loud speaker while in a noisy environment?
For me loud speaker is an option only when I'm in a quiet room with other people and best is to use and external speaker... -
@applee The behaviour on Androids side is as it should be. As I said, my daughter switched back to Lineage and all these problems were gone. I already tried uVolMan but it seems that the volume of the speaker when calling somebody cannot be put up to maximum as for example when listening to music. The volume shows maximum but is still very low. And it cannot be pushed further up by uVolMan.
If I say the volume is low, it means that even in a total quiet environment you have to listen very concentrated to hear the person on the other side talking. I often talk with my children with my wife beside me and on a "normal" smartphone this is comfortably possible. With my RN7 is isn't really a good option. -
@oskar_seehund
Looks like loud speaker on calls is not working at all then...
I'm out of option.Oh and by the way next time you might want to open a new thread. OTA 18 was a long time ago and it could be misleading.
I will recommend you open an issue for this port so other users can confirm this and the porter could have a look.

@applee Thank you for your hints. Even though I'm one UT nearly from the start (BQ Aquaris E10, Nexus 5...) I've never searched for help in this forum. I'm still learning...
So if you think it would be best, please close this thread and I'll open up a new one. Wich category do you think, suits best for this case? -
@oskar_seehund
I'll let this thread be and the category is fine.
As a rule of thumb if the problem you encounter is obvious than it might be device specific.
If it's a weird use case you can post in the general support category.
If you're seeking help to do something particular, support is also the good place.And if there is no help from the forum you should try and report the bug to the corresponding git.
For this particular case you should head over to the git repository and post an issue if this one does not exist yet.
And everyone is still learning that's how life is
