@nero355 I've tried all methods found on line and finally learned that although carrier unlocked the bootloader is probably Verizon locked and unlockable. That is unless someone has recently found a way to unlock it.

@farmer Ok. Got another 3a G020G, unlocked it, but get an error loading the boot loader. (found version B4s4-0.3-7357923, looking for B4s4-0.4-7758097.) End of install. Can,t find how to change that.

That sounds like your Android base ROM is outdated ?!

            My phones :

            • BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Phone Edition - Ubuntu Touch 16.04 LTS
            • ZUK Z2 Pro - ZUI Android 8.x
            • Xiaomi Mi 9T - Jolla SailFish 3.4.x Community Build

            P.S. : I am NOT a developer! ;)

@nero355 Yes it seems so,however "About Phone" indicates Android 11. Build #RQ3A.211001.001;IMEI #359677097963609, and the kernel version is dated Jun/4th/UTC 2021. Are the newer 3a's not supported? If not it would be good to know before buying. Also the serial # in fastboot is 98JAY157KN. Thanks for the reply.

That doesn't say anything about the Bootloader version... 😉

What I would do is try to flash the phone with the latest Android Stock ROM provided by Google in Fastboot Mode and then try installing Ubuntu Touch again!

                Good luck!

@farmer Think you need to downgrade the android version to 9 for UT install to work.

@lakotaubp Finally downgraded to 9 'Bonito' version which flashes with many ''no sig'' errors. UT will install but is totally unresponsive. (Stuck on desktop).

@farmer Bonito is the XL variant, you probably need to use Sargo for the specific touch panel firmware

@nero355 Yes, LATEST is the key word. Instead of updating the phone I updated the computer. Enough said. Thank you.

@fredldotme Got it. The bootloader was sargo, downloading the newest version now and hope to work through the install. Thanks to everyone for your help. Will let you know after a lot of trial and error.

@fredldotme Again with the latest android version the Bonito bootloader was even lower on the phone (B4s4-0.1)and the sargo image would not recognize it.. Finally hopeing that the 0.1 version was Android-9, flashed the 190801 sargo image and it worked. From there it was my speed; just push the buttons. Best phone OS in the world. Thank you all for developing it and for taking the time to help.
