No ringtone after update to version 40
-
Hello all. I have just experienced strange behaviour after update to version 40 of UT. I do not know what exactly is causing this, but since the update, there is no ringtone at incoming calls. Only vibrations. Does anybody have the same experience? And is there any way to fix it?
Thank you.

@sladek9
RC 40 OTA ? -
@keneda Yes, exactly. I alteady found a bug report on the github. It looks like it is affecting more phones.
-
@sladek9 same with me, Mi A2 on RC after todays upgrade. No ringtone, all the other sounds work. Is there a workaround? Can you post the link to the github bug report - thanks!

@messayisto No one else with this issue?
-
@messayisto I suppose the world around would be to switch to the stable channel if available for your device.
-
@arubislander I did install stable and it fixed the issue, but I did have to reinstall waydroid. Not a big deal just took a bit to figure that out.
-
@captainzer0 have you got gapps or vanilla?
-
@soulrock vanilla. its dose not seem as responsive as RC but it is working.
-
Yessss. I have this behavior on bacon-devel (halium7) since a couple if updates and was starting to think it was just me ^^
-
@captainzer0 Finally the phone is ringing again. What I did is an update to version 764 from the development channel. It seems to have fixed the problem.

@sladek9 There came another upgrade today and it went working again. I suppose, the porter (?) ore the core team (?) fixed it. Thank you very much. I wish you the best! Love ubuntu touch, love this forum. Merry christmas!

@Sladek9 In case its fixed for you, too, would you be so kind and mark this thread as "solved". Its described here:

Thank you. -
This indeed was a regression that slipped pass Q&A and ended up landing in RC. Good thing it was spotted there by you, the community members before it ended up in stable!
The fix was merged last night and ended up in today's devel image. It should land in RC shortly. As we are nearing the release of OTA-21 I encourage everyone who is able to, to switch to the RC channel. And whoever is willing to help in early testing, to switch to the devel channel. More eyes on the features help spotting regressions like this early. -
