Installed Ubuntu Touch on my old neo with a new battery
-
I have found the battery on the S3neo+ can be recovered by using an external charger and taking the battery out of the phone. For some annoying reason even a new battery may stop charging in the phone after a few days until I recharge it externally.
How are the cameras working?
-
my battery is loading up as normal and the camera's are working fine
-
@bartc Both cameras, what channel are you installing/updating on?
-
I used the installer I downloaded a few days ago and used the default settings I'm not an expert but the installation did his work.
-
@bartc I either have the front camera or rear camera working, but not both.
-
@mrt10001 that's it one or the other camera is working
-
@bartc change UBports to Ubuntu touch, UBports is the foundation and Ubuntu touch is the operating system.
-
@josele13 done
-
@keneda thanks is was as putting the work of the community on my mobyle but now its clear as I run Ubuntu on my pc I run Ubuntu touch on my neo
-
My sim card arrived and I could test my neo+ completely, calling went well but an incoming call while calling could not be answered
the packed connection did not worked but I think I've to dig a little deeper in the configs, the activity led is a must have wifi and bt working well and a lot of Linux apps makes the life better but still
I miss some android apps as my bank, an offline navigation app
and some other goodies. After all I can use this phone as second
device and I'm very happy to use it, thanks UBports! -

an offline navigation app
We do have that! If you install OSM Scout Server, then your navigation app (uNav or Puremaps) can use that when you're offline.
-
@moem oh that's good news I'll test it and come back to it.

I've installed OSM and puremaps , after a long time Belgium was downloaded and i could drive my first gided route with UT. Super!
