        @mschmids I tried fron the UT drawer. How do you enter the lineage desktop?

          @bogotrax my UT app drawer has a Waydroid, Waydroid Helper and Waydroid Stop (as installed from Waydroid Helper) icon. The first one launches the LineageOS desktop. In fact it launches an app, labeled Waydroid, with Waydroid icon, black background and spinning circle and an app, labeled Unity 8, with the LineageOS desktop. I just close the former. In my case the default LineageOS apps do not crash with wifi, only the google based app, I installed as described in my above post, requires cellular data.

            @mschmids ok waydroid icon crashes and every android icon crashes both with cellular and wifi. Sadly. Can anybody post the install over the terminal or adb. Maybe i have more luck that way. It also says xdg session not wayland when i try starting waydroid from terminal. Any idea what that means?

              @bogotrax you might want to consider uninstalling then reinstalling waydroid from the helper app. The install did not work for me on the first attempt, though I do not recall the details. If you are familiar, you can dive into the command line of waydroid and the relevant log files, which might in the end point you back to the reinstall.

                @mschmids Hello, thanks for your support! I really appreciate it. Reinstalling sadly also didn't do it. I would install through terminal if sb could point me to a tutorial on it. Again thanks for your input!

                  @bogotrax ok guys, it worked through apt install + waydroid init and container start. Didn't do it through libertine, so no clue if this is an appropriate approach. But even wifi works on android so it is something. Thanks guys for support!

                    Installing waydroid never needed libertine, those are two very different topics and uses.

                        Libertine is "only" a contener for installing standard desktop GNU/L apps that can't run directly on our mobile oriented one, as it is locked on system files for security reasons and its native apps (.click) install in a specific part.

                        Only common point with waydroid, liberine is experimental ^^

                          @nodorf ive tried everything you described but after i use helper to download lineage os, the device shuts down and restarts but the waydroid app keeps crashing. The logo pops up but the app is not loading lineage os. Could you help me how you did it exactly.

                            @bogotrax could you help me understand what 'container start' is and how to start it. Because waydroid app starts but displays logo and disappears

                                @bogotrax

                                basically what i did is

                                sudo -s
                                mount -o rw,remount / && apt update && apt install waydroid && waydroid init

                                And then

                                sudo waydroid container start

                                And followed by

                                sudo waydroid session start

                                Both give a lot of information that look like errors. I am not able to debug this. I came to the conclusion that the waydroid helper needs just endlessly long time till it installs waydroid and then suprised me with a reboot and a working lineage after all my manually installing of waydroid.

                                  @datum Sorry I missed your question, but I did exactly what explained by @Bogotrax and I also tried with the waydroid helper app and it just worked.
                                  Pay attention that not all android apps are working properly. I tried snapchat and it was not starting. I am not using waydroid a lot as I found out I can do already most of what I need from UBPorts apps. I tried successfully Whatsapp and several banking apps but that is mostly it.
