        Hello,
I was wandering to what extend can we change UT software as simple end users?
AFAIK the os image is read only, and any change I make gets revoked after UT update?
Can I still manually install other drivers/bluwtooth package as a test?
Will I potentially destroy my phone in the process?

I sm struggling to understand what are the difference in os / software behaviour between UT and Stock Linux on e.g. a computer.
        Thanks for your advice.

@homer What kind of driver are you pertaining too? I think you should also be aware that first of all, phones and PCs are very different especially non-mainline phones so you can't do everything you do on your PC on your phone and vice versa. That part is irrelevant to the readonly system in UT. Driver stuffs are definitely something you can't easily do on phones. Also, if you really want to do stuffs on your device, you are free to do it as long as you know what you're doing. There's a great chance your system will break but the good thing about the readonly system is that you can easily reflash with UBports installer and it will work again like nothing happened. Just make sure wipe data isn't checked/enabled.

If you stay on same channel, you get incremental updates, so if you stay on stable, you have long time without change, wich are limited to what is updated in incremental.

If you know what files exactly you edited and can manage to revert anything that could be broken then you're ok.

In any case like said, reinstall without wiping.
