UBports Ubuntu Touch OTA-3 buzz
-
@twinkybot On Meizu Pro 5 the battery is drained since I upgrade to OTA 3.
Today, without using it (without applications in the background), dropped the battery charge from 80% to 21% in six hours. -
@twinkybot Yes normally, but with the OTA-2 the 2 were clearly visible, which was not bad in itself.
@Mily: for the Nexus 5, I earn between 30 and 50% of autonimie and fluidity also seems a little increased, the problem of the ON / OFF button is well resolved. -
@dda Excuseme, but what is the problem of the ON / OFF button?
This afternoon the charge dropped 40% in 4 hours, without using the display or apps (except 5 minutes). I am worry.
-
@Mily : There is no more problem with this button, it was part of the problems fixed in the OTA-3 for the Nexus 5
Automnomie side : it is almost 2 days with a rather weak use and with the battery of origin of the Nexus 5.
The fall of the battery on the night: less than 20%.Edit : Maybe it's because you use a Legacy Devices, for me it's a Core Devices?
-
@mily mine keeps mounting and dismounting the sdcard every few minutes ,do you have a sdcard inserted or not ( pro 5 )
-
@dda OK, thanks for the information.
The phone is "useless", I am afraid of degrading the battery (I found it off three times); I have changed the SIM card to other phone whit other OS, unfortunately.Without data connection (only WiFi), GSM and use : - 20% in 19h. Now I am testing in Fly Mode, It seems that consumption is normal: -1% in 5h. Tomorrow I will test with GSM only, without data connection and WiFi, and I will recalibrate the battery in the next cycle.
I do not think it's a problem with Legacy Devices; I read the same problem with Nexus 5: Battery drain much too high
@marathon2422 I don't have a SD card inserted.

I'm about the new push notification service of UT. I've installed UT 15.04- 172 (dev channel). It is newest image I can get from update settings on my phone (Nexus 4). Am I missing something? I do not still get notifications from for example Signal, Dekko apps. I get the notifications only from Messages and Calendar apps.
-
Signal and old Dekko do not have notifications at all. TBH push notifications is only used by Telegram app.

@flohack Thank You for this reply. What does mean old Dekko? Is there a new version with notifications or other e-mail client using push notif.?
-
@cheniek Dekko2 in the Openstore. Still beta, but gets better with every update - it is based on a local daemon that checks your mail and sends a local notification. Has nothing to do with push server

@flohack Hmmm, I've been using Dekko 2 already but get no notifications anyway :/. I know that have new e- mails only when open an app check it manually...

@flohack Telegram for UT don't allow voice calling? I convinced today my friend to switch from Signal to Telegram because I wanted to be with him in touch, and You Just improved ubuntu version. Signal has no voice calls possibility. Now after installation of Telegram I realized that Telegram doesn't cover voice calls to....
-
@cheniek No sorry, we are very far away of this. Probably a whole year of development or more... Telegram develops new features at lightspeed, and I took over the App with a lot of basic functions missing.
So basically we are thinking to make a complete rewrite, since the old code became mostly unmaintainable. But this will mean no new features added to the old code for a long time.
Sorry that I have no better news.

@cheniek Me too
-
@flohack I know there is a lot of worki with this kind of things. I am far from complaining of course. Unfortunately even if my needs in general are not big still are there some things I can not go without. Good luck in creating a nice operating system.

I had an impression that there is no chance to have internet voice calls on UT due to fact there is no Telegram/Signal voice calls implementation. Today I read this topic: link text :). I'll keep watching it. I just need any (encrypted would be the best one of course) SIP client which would be used on UT, Android and iOS. Linphone seems to cover these needs!
