        HI all,
        I am considering buying a Volla 22.
I wrote to Volla guys and they told be, if interested to use the dual boot, to buy a Volla22 with preinstalled the Volla OS and put Ubuntu Touch on microSD-Card. They told that it is not working the other way round.
        Has anyone experience in it?
How should I proceed to load the UT on the microSD card? Using the UBports Installer?
        Thanks to all

it's a nice phone but dual-booting seems to not yet work if you get the UT version, but if you find a custom recovery could you flash android on slot b and keep UT on slot a to have a dual boot

@mv I own a VP22 running UT. Dual booting is only possible (currently?), if your device comes with VollaOS. Installation of a second OS like UT is done from within VollaOS. (There are good docs for this on the Volla site.)

            VollaPhone22 (dual-boot of VollaOS and UT 20.04 OTA-5), Pocophone F1 (pmOS, edge)

@domubpkm i have one too and it's great and runs UT and waydroid inside of it way better as the pinephone does, i miss not having any kind of TWRP CWM or OrangeFox recovery for making backups and such but it is solid but also misses being available in the installer to clean slate it if you messed stuff up

Have Volla OS on the phone but managed to get Ubports and Sailfish on the microSD card.

@dave1152000 So, de facto triple boot? How?

@bocephus there is a good guide in the FAQ from volla online ... https://volla.online/en/faqs/ ...tripple boot works fine. You need the volla bootmanager inside VollaOS for multiboot ( Volla22 here). Enjoy.

                        UT since 2012 (also Sailfish)

On a Volla Phone 22 MultiBoot does not run if Volla OS 12 is installed. See also https://volla.online/en/blog/files/august-updtte-23.html (...Volla OS 12 ...an update of the hardware abstraction layer for the Volla Phone 22 is required due to new device drivers ...).
With Volla OS 11 I have good experience with MultiBoot.

Multi Boot runs very well on a Volla Phone 22 - if the VOLLA OS 11.1 version of 17.10.2022 is used (was delivered with this version in October 2023).
And yes there are updates to newer versions (Volla OS 11.1 from 11.01.2023 and 16.06.2023). But I am not sure if these versions are suitable for Multi Boot. AND CAUTION: With Volla OS 12.x no Multi Boot is currently possible. Volla is working on it. For perspective see https://volla.online/en/blog/files/november-update-23.html.
The additional operating systems are stored on an SD card with an (automatically generated) boot manager. The SD cards can be changed (and therefore also copied) without any disadvantages. Volla OS accesses the boot manager of the SD card and starts the additional operating systems from the SD card.
The installation of Volla OS 11.1 is possible with UBports. Stand-alone installations such as Ubuntu Touch are overwritten. When installing Volla OS with UBports, all initializations and user data will be lost!
