Video recording not working on Google Pixel 3a XL
-
Hi guys,
I have a Google Pixel 3a XL. I have a habit of recording videos but not going back to watch them for a long time. So today I went back and tried to watch my videos, on the phone as well as on a Windows PC. It seems that the video recording function quit working correctly sometime around July of this year.
The camera app starts correctly, I can switch to video recording just fine, and it appears to be recording video. However, when I try to watch the video, a 15-second video is played back as a single still image with a run time of several minutes.
The photograph function works perfectly. I have already tried changing the resolution and resetting the app cache and configuration using UT Tweak Tool.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?
Best regards

@wq6z8x4u Have you seen this discussion?

@ian Not yet, I'll have a look. Thanks!

@ian So if I understand correctly, the problem is known, but there is no fix for it yet?

@wq6z8x4u It was fixed in devel at least. What update channel are you currently on?

@arubislander I just checked and I'm on Stable. If I switch to Development to solve this problem, is there a risk that it might destabilize other apps or functions that are currently working correctly?

Yes. But you should always be able to switch back.

@moem Ah ok, then I will try it. Thanks!
