Messages App does not work
-
Hi everyone,
I just bought myself an early x-mas present. A Volla phone. By copying certain folders I was able to bring most of my data and settings to my new phone. But it didn't work for the sms messages. I thought it would work to copy (from the hidden folders) from .local -> share -> history services. First of all it didn't bring back my old messages (list of calls), it also destroyed the app. It does not show any new SMS after that procedure. I do get a notification and I can see them in preview. I didn't backup the original folder in my volla-phone, as I only got 2 sms before doing the data transfer.I certainly could "just" set up my OS completely again, but I've already put so much energy in it the last two days. Isn't there a quick and easy solution to make this work again?
Thanks.

@taiga-woods
Hi,Does your data come from a Legacy device or Halium < 9 ?
In that case, there is a known issue while changing device, i've prepared something for Focal, but still not merged yet.Meanwhile just to test, if you clean all your .../history-service folder ( then reboot), does it fix your new SMSs not displayed ?

@lduboeuf Wow thanks, that was easy - I just deleted the folder and rebooted

So know I can read new received SMS again, but I do not have the old ones. Anyway, that's not essential.I copied the folders from a Nexus 5. Are there other known issues when copying data from halium 9 to 10/11? I still haven't transferred the dekko2-files...

Idk for Dekko, should be good as the issue is only related to a change in modem account name
