20.04 Pixel 3A
-
@mw4jet Just to let you know the pixel 3a now updates without the need to connect to a power source.
-
@lakotaubp and @mw4jet I have joined you with a P3aXL 20.04 install on a secondary device. A few observations:
- Calls work in 2G mode (T-Mobile mvno) the same as in 16.04, but no MMS (MMS is working in 16.04).
- Mobile data doesn't seem to work in 4G or 2G modes (this is likely why MMS doesn't work if no mobile data then no MMS?).
- Disabling wifi doesn't seem to work (it re-connects / re-activates).
- Bluetooth doesn't seem to work.
- The open store is basically empty
So for any of the above bugs (mobile data / bluetooth / wifi re-connecting) should I report them or just hold onto them for now?
-
@rik Best keep here for now. The reporting is just being tidied up now. You could check the links in here https://forums.ubports.com/topic/8277/focal-fossa-more-information

Pixel lost wifi yesterday 02th and today 03th Dec it does not install correctly with the installer and ends back at Fastboot or mine does.
-
04/12 Today it stops at Google screen.
-
Have got the Pixel back on 20.04. In the end I reinstalled android as per the installer instructions and installed devel 16.04 with the wipe option then installed 20.04 devel.
-
Installed 20.04 on my pixel 3a
My observations:- Its smoother than 16.04
- Flash light not working
- Libertine is removed from settings
-
@lordkrs I would add that Bluetooth is working
-
@lduboeuf no waaaaaaay

Still getting issues with installing updates with the installer. I have 20.04 running then new update arrives. Trying to install update just results in system stopping at Recovery. So boot to fastboot and run the installer. This is the fun part. The installer seems to not fetch all the files and only gets as far as the google or fastboot screen. No matter what I try nothing will install 16.04 or 20.04 until android is reinstalled then all works again.
When the install fails using the installer at the bottom of the screen it states the reason for being in fastboot as no viable slot.
Next time I will just run the installer and not test to see if the update installs as it should. Unless someone says it's working. -
@lakotaubp Alfred mentioned he's fixed the update issue. No word yet on when it will land. But development is really speeding up on focal. The move unlocks lots of new possibilities for the OS
-
@arubislander Great news. Just what I have been waiting for. Maybe location on uNav next
-
@lakotaubp Have you been able to perform a succesful update?
-
@arubislander Our WiFi is down till later today. Haven't been able to update anything for a few days. Really want to test latest updates. Will let you know when done
-
@arubislander No not working yet.
-
@lakotaubp idk if it is a global Focal issue, but got to "forget this network" to be able to connect again on FP4
-
@lduboeuf Seems ok on OP5 reinstalling on 3a now so will let you know on that.
Really annoying having to go back to google to install UT updates again. Hope it's just mine. Still early days will be sorted soon no doubt. -
@lduboeuf Still need to test WiFi being forgotten but testing GPS on uNav and have just tried a webtelegram app.
-
Fingerprint reader now works
-
@lakotaubp maybe the version you were on didn't include the fix yet. It has been working for me for the past three days, so now it should also work for you.
If not the difference might be due to the way it is installed. This time around I had 16.04 installed then rannit through the installer for 20.04, deselecting both wipe and bootstrap.
