      Hi,

I recently picked up a T-Mobile 6T. After trying unsuccessfully to get a bootloader unlock file, I went the brute force route described on XDA. After doing that I was able to install the latest ubuntu touch without issue.

For the most part things work. I seem to have the same shutdown issue as others do.

The bigger problem is I can only send SMS, I only get SMS if I go into airplane mode and back out. starting the TMO network back up seems to flush things out. MMS dos not work at all.

When I go look at the APNs, they are wrong, trying to edit them is a nightmare and not complete. I did find a couple of copies of apns-conf.xml and tried to fix them there but they cannot be edit or replaced even as sudo. I expect it the file system is mounted read only.

I've seen some folks have it working on other carriers, any ideas how to fix this? I expect it's an APN issue, if I could get this working I would be quite happy with a Linux phone.

      Joel

It would be helpful to know where in the world you are. Provider issues are very location-dependent.
People who don't mention their location are generally in the US, but I don't want to assume.

Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

@joel_1 Did you unlock the network before installing UT? If it is network locked (SIM locked) you will have issues if you are using a non T-Mobile SIM.

            I have too many devices...

If you are sure of what you're doing, you can mount read/write using ubuntu touch tweak tool app from open store or with command line.

Be care as if you do something wrong you can wreck your system, and don't forget to remount read only after finished.

@joel_1 This is a common problem we usually handle in the (North American Issues) Ubuntu Touch Telegram group as it is easier to solve with live support. Please join the UT welcome group and ask for the North American Issues group
