UT 20.04 on Pixel 3a
-
I've just installed 20.04 on a Pixel3a I just bought.
Everything went well once I figured out I needed 51.* file. I don't quite know about the battery life. Who I bought it from never mentioned anything about it. I also cannot get the % to show even if it says it was fixed.
Aside from that seems to be all good. Now, am I to assume that all of the apps that were in the Open Store are not ported (if it's the right term) to this new OS yet..?
I had Pixel 2 loaded with an earlier version and there were a lot more apps than what there are now which is kind of a bummer since I wanted that Pixel3a to be my daily driver but I'm missing a few apps that I need.
Anyway...thanks much for all the work. -
@ckrnkfrnchmn Yes, most apps has to be ported to focal (20.04) and since focal has only been available to general users, there are only a few apps ported over.
You can still try xenial (16.04) versions of apps though. Some compatibility layers were retained but there are things that are mandatory to change. So for now, you can try downloading the xenial version from the open store site and install them manually and see if they will work.

I downgraded to UT 16 from inside UT...installed my apps then upgraded back to 20.4 and it worked. All the apps I d/loaded while in 16 work -
@ckrnkfrnchmn I recently installed UT 16.04 on my Pixel 3a then upgraded to 20.04 and yes it is seems heavy on the battery! Doesn't last a whole day and it's not old. I think the battery life of this model on android wasn't great either.

Oh...great to know...I was going to uninstall everything, revert back to Android and d/load battery testing app.
Or like you say...the battery is crap to start with
