Pixel 3a with clean installed 20.04 stable. Works really well except when trying to select alarm sounds. No matter what is selected it uses the default alarm sound, even though a different default sound has been selected. Ring tones change with no issues. Any ideas?

@lakotaubp Thanks, that did the trick! Now to decide what version, rc or stable? Any recommendations? 16.04 worked very well. Only downside is the battery life, and that's more to do with the phone rather than than the OS.

Have 20.04 Developer installed on my Pixel 3a and working ok. There is no option in update channels to change to 20.04 rc. Do I need to use UBports?

@ckrnkfrnchmn I recently installed UT 16.04 on my Pixel 3a then upgraded to 20.04 and yes it is seems heavy on the battery! Doesn't last a whole day and it's not old. I think the battery life of this model on android wasn't great either.

Hi all, I'm pleased to report success! Using your advice I started from scratch and installed UT 16.04, and the process was flawless. Thanks for your help.
Updating to 20.04 is the next step, I hope that is straight forward!

Hi Lakotaubp, many thanks, I was trying to install 20.04 and yes I set the phone to dev mode, de-bugging and unlocked the bootloader with sdk platform-tools fastboot before activating the installer. It was a real pain getting it back to the Android original version, the phone is too good to brick so I'd like to be confident of a successful result before trying it again! I tried it three times in case I'd made a mistake but it ended up the same. I think it installed but the bootloader seemed stuck in fastboot and it couldn't see the operating system.
