UBPorts on a SM-A520F
-
Hello everyone.
I successfully installed UBPorts from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-a5-7-2017-ubuntu-touch-ubports.4446669/But that ROM is very old (Xenial Xerus). I used that because I couldn't find anything as compatible (as far as I understood, the guy on XDA personally ported to the device)
So please, can anyone help me clarify this situation? I can neither use Libertine
Thanks for any help, regards

There's an update to Focal 20.04, and a code repository here: https://github.com/Exynos7880-Linux/samsung-exynos7880/
I just flashed it and works, didn't test much hardware yet.

I'm sorry, but what you have there is unsupported. You installed Ubuntu Touch (not UBports; the community is called UBports, the OS is called Ubuntu Touch) in an inofficial way on a device (Samsung Galaxy A5, I assume?) that UBports does not support, and that will most likely mean that we can't help you with it.
It would be a lot better if the person who made that would take the time to make a real, official port and not a ZIP.

@moem I see, thanks anyhow.
I'll try to talk the guy on XDA then -

That's great! It would be very cool to have this as a supported device.

@moem Indeed
I just wrote and referenced this topic on XDA
Let's cross fingersEdit: I'd just point out, in the first post on the XDA thread, the author wrote some links to his source code.
A little below, he also links a GitHub profile for a user with contributions to Samsung related stuff.
IMHO, worth a look -
Unfortunately, no feedback yet on XDA.
Anyone had a look at the code? -
@idj not many porters or others with knowledge about the code hang around here on the forums. Also just dropping the link to some repo and asking people to look at it feels like an imposition on another person's time.

@arubislander I see, apologies for that.
The fact is I'm not skilled enough to do it myself, yet I'm willing to help as I can.
Again, excuse me. -
