@fparri Currently i'm working on fixing the kernel, because of it being 3.4 it's ancient enough to cause me so many troubles that sometimes I contemplate on just leaving the port alone. However if you would like to contribute as well then kernel is on github.com/muhammad23012009/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974/tree/halium-9.0-focal (force-pushes are sometimes unevitable 😉 )

@thevancedgamer I wish I had enough skills to help you. I would gladly do that. The sad truth is I don't but thanks anyways for replying to me and for linking the github tree 🙂

Only took me a little while, but we managed to get wifi on focal as well! (not main device so revealing serial number doesn't matter 🙂 )

              Bugs remaining are:
Bluetooth (pairs but doesn't work perfectly; serial number is broken)
Browsing (Need to forward-port a patch from xenial in rootfs)
UI lags (relatively small change, will try to fix this first)
Camera (I don't want to touch it :P)
...and some more. Will keep you all updated!

You're kidding, right? Of course we do!

                          Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

For all you people wondering about device-side patches, I just got done with https://github.com/muhammad23012009/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974-rebase/commit/ee3ccd30032f62234cad3078a32bc3c64039643a
and now we should have AppArmor 3.0-rc in kernel 3.4! (basically means more apps work :D)

I have just read this update and have to say I cannot wait to see this in the install options.
Great work on bringing this forward

If we wait as we should will this Focal appear in Edge/Devel or a new channel?

Your work on will keep this device active for many so congratulations

I saw Helium as an option but don't want break anything....yet!

I got my Nexus 4 then 5 then FP2 then one plus cooking on #UBUNTU via @ubports and have run it on Op3T Op6t OP5T Pinephone/Pro Pine Tab and Pinebook Pro and my favourite OnePlus One.

Just tried to install and on each of my machines (Windows and Ubuntu 20.04) it chucks up an adb error at the last second pushing UT to the device. If I ignore it the phone goes through the install on the device and hangs on the reboot. Error message states no room in cache?

I tried installing 16.04 stable and that failed ,so TWRP installed, wiped all partitions and reinstalled stable 16.04. That worked, so device is back up and running.

I will try again this weekend.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.... And more...

@MrT10001 Just tried myself. Got what you did then installed 16.04 stable again and now it will not flash 20.04 in fastboot keeps erroring. If you forget bootstrap it only intalls 16.04.
Going to try fron system settings now.

@MrT10001 There appears to be a bug for now on 20.04 involving the cache resulting in an install error.
Using system settings will download 20.04 but not install it corrctly. Will let you know when fixed.
                                            So close but .....
