        Hello everyone.

I had an odd problem where I launch an application X11 support successfully opens, and I can see everything just fine, but then the screen and button presses don't update until I switch away from the app and back too it. Just seems really add that everything does work, but it just doesn't update, and you have to manually do it by switching in and out of the application.

The app in question is scrcpy for mirroring my android phone. App starts and runs fine, just this weird update problem (possibly with X11 support app xmir?)

@kara-zajac Hi, what device are you trying this on? Also what version of UT (I am guessing focal). Did you start the app from the terminal? Depending on your device we can figure out the steps to get it to work as it should

@kara-zajac Are you on xenial? I wouldn't hope much since xmir is dead. On focal though, xwayland support has landed and it should work much better. Still not perfect though but at least there's hope for it to improve.

I am on focal and I am launching the app from the terminal, which opens it in a new window. I don't know if I can upload a video here, but I took one yesterday.

If I go into the multi app view cards, I can see it updating on the card, but the moment I go into the scrcpy window of my android phone it works for about 1 second and then I have to swipe back to the terminal and back to the app again.

This is on a Pinephone Pro, I realize I am not on a standard anything right now, but it seemed to be more of a function of UT putting running terminal stuff into the background when you leave the window more than a bug. It seems like it is doing it to possibly save battery? Like when I can see when it does the [1] stopped because I left the terminal.

                Problem still persists after running:
                gsettings set com.canonical.qtmir lifecycle-exempt-appids "['com.ubuntu.music', 'com.ubuntu.terminal']"

I was hoping that would fix it, but when I move off of terminal it still stops scrcpy and sends it to the background

@kara-zajac So you're using scrpy to mirror your android phone wirelessly? Didn't know there's now an app for that. Let us know how it works. I tried scrpy some time ago on my work laptop and it kinda worked well πŸ˜„
