Hello UBports Forum People:
I've upgraded my Aquars M10 fhd to Ubuntu 16.04.
There is a 64GB SD card in its card reader, but I cannot read it, access it, or find it.
I know that there is data on the card: after powering down, I removed in and read it on my 22.04 laptop. There are 2 folders there, one with pdfs, and the other with epub books.
How do I find and/or gain access to the SD card?
Thank you!
Daryl

@daryl Can you see the drive using 'external drives' on the home page of apps (swipe from left)?
If so it should appear in 'file manager'. Open the app, click on the menu option (top left) and it should be at the bottom of the list.

@daryl what filesystem is the card formatted with? UT only automounts FAT32 (and maybe NTFS) But it can read ext2,3,4 too, though you would need to manually mount those.

@ian Hi Ian. Thank you for your reply and interest.
In filemanager, there is no designation for the card on the left column....
At the top there is a "Restriceted Access" banner with an "Unlock" green button . When I touch that and enter my password I'm able to view the rest of the directories under "My Device."
However, when I look under /mnt nothing is there, and when I look under /media nothing is there.

@arubislander
Thanks for your reply and nterest arubislander!I formated the card as FAT32 on my laptop that uses Ubuntu 22.04 operating system. I know that there are files on that FAT 32 card because I put them there this morning after formating it.
THanks,

@daryl In the left column I can see 'Home, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, Videos, and Network' all as folders. Unferneath that I have 'My Device, and a string of numbers', the string of numbers is the card. If everything is OK clicking on this should open the top level directory on your card and show you the directories on it.
If you haven't got the string of numbers the card is not mounted. That being the case have a look in the 'External Drives' app and see if that shows it. Clicking on the card should give you the option to 'Format, and Safely remove'. If you can see that try formatting it.... having copied the files on your laptop first.
Every time you reboot your device you should get a notification in the top bar to say that a storage device has been detected.
I'm using a VollaPhone X on OTA 24. Anyone else out there with a BQ Aquaris M10 FHD that can confirm that SD cards work on this device (according to the devices page it does)?

@daryl ... I learned what was wrong. I does not recognize 64Gb SD cards. 32GB worked nicely, and the 32gb card is listed in the File Manager app in its left column.
Thank you, arubislander!!!

@ian Thanks, Ian. I appreciate your advice. I realized that the device does not like 64gb sd cards. When I inserted a 32gb SD card, it recognized the card, and allowed me to format it.
How do I mark this query as "Solved"?

@daryl Follow AppLee's advice...
