        Hi UBport People:

I'm new with the tablet, and just upgraded to 16.04 after leaving my tablet in a closet for a few many years.

Please advise me on the apps I should install (or are installed0 to

        • read pdfs, and

        • read epubs

        Thank you!

@daryl For an ebub reader look in the OpenStore (capital A on the left side task bar). Search for epub. EnjoyπŸ˜€

              @ian Hi Ian:

              Thanks for your reply.

I instlled EPubviewer an tapped my way over to the SD card where all of my epub files are located.... and chose one of them... (there may be as many as 75 or more epubs and pdfs on the SD card).

Next a window popped up that says "Transfer in Progress" ... with a blue circle that spins.

... and its been spinning a while, with no obvious end in sight.... and the epub I selected is not popping up.

              Did I do something wrong?

@daryl No, sounds like you are doing the right thing but some of the user reviews say similar things. Have a go with Sturm Reader ot Simple Reader and see how you get on with them.

@mrt10001 Seems ok for a shorter pdf (eg 15 pages). I will learn to be patient with larger pdf (eg 50+ pages).

The tablet show the pdfs are remarkable crisp and beautifull!!!

@ian Well, I'd say that it is about a tie between the 3 epub readers, and I'll never be able to read Aesop's Tales on my beautiful Ubuntu tablet.

                        That's ok.

The pdf readers works well enough, and the browser works well enough to read the news papers.

Really unfortunate that there is no realistic way a craven idiot who only knows ho to toggle the on/off switch can't surf privately. All I wanna do is read the news.

WIthout a VPN, I know enough that I may as well post my password files on twitter.

That rots, and limits what I dare to do.

                        I like my privacy.

@daryl for your privacy needs, a proper toe implementation might be on its way.
