Hello! I've recently installed 20.4 on a Pixel 3a and I'm facing a really slow youtube playback, regardless it is via webapp or the web browser. At 480p@30 I'm getting more than 50% frames dropped.
Is it normal? Is there anything I can do to improve it?

@Elrohir So from experience and reading from multiple places, I've come to the conclusion that after flashing an operating system, the device needs a day or two or maybe even a week to settle down with the new OS as /sys and kernel are constantly working to set things up.

Have patience and welcome to a new world. šŸ˜‡

@Elrohir I think that's not normal since focal is supposed to have hardware accelerated playback in the browser now. This means better performance. However, I find it less stable and wonky on my Fairphone 4. Video plays back smoothly but audio usually is out of sync and sometimes video just stops loading midway.

@kugiigi in my case its the opposite, audio is ok, but video is laggy. It does not stop, but it feels like 15fps or so

@Elrohir I don't encounter it on my Fairphone 4 on focal. Even at 4K, it barely drop frames. It is however happening in Mateo's Youtube webapp. I tried in Morph and Sapot. Perhaps it's a port issue?

@Elrohir I am running 20.04 on my Pixel 3a. I do not experience the lag you mention. Did you have the required version of Android installed before flashing UT?screenshot20230429_190242552.png
