Signal Axolotl status in 2023?
-
Hi all,
Does anyone know if Axolotl will be returning to Ubuntu Touch any time?
I really miss using Signal, as my friends and family use it, and I use a UT phone that hasn't been able to run Axolotl for a couple of years now.
Cheers, Scott

It is still on openstore, and from what i red in comments, some work is underway to fix some registration issue. -
@Keneda
Thanks, yes, that's where I am with it, I can install it, but no way to register/use it currently.Great to hear that some work is happening to resolve the issues!
Thanks, Scott. -

Yes, that's correct. I'm in the TG group where people work together to fix the issues and development is quite active.

Maybe it is possible to register via the signald CLI app?
Another workaround would be to use the Slidge XMPP gateway that supports Signal, but XMPP clients on UT are sadly not great either. Movim works in the browser though, just no webpush on UT.

As long as it is still in the works, you could use Cinny or Element to access a matrix server that uses the signal bridge. That way you even get push notifications and combine multiple messengers into one app. I set up my own matrix server to use the whatsapp bridge, but it also work with Signal. If you do not want to self host I can recommend https://tchncs.de/matrix, which has the signal bridge already set up and instructions on their site on how to use it.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to install Axolotl on the Nexus 5 today and I keep getting a chaptcha prompt with a link that says "Open Signal", which does nothing. Anyone else dealing with this issue? I have attached a screenshot below:
Btw, my GPS for the first worked today by detecting my location with both uNav and Pure Maps. I only get Edge instead of LTE on the Nexus 5 so hopefully the Pixel 3a XL will work better if I get it later.

@metalmyles
Hi, i moved your post to the best appropriated thread.
Do not necro old threads where more recent could be more relative to your issue.
I think here is your answer.
