@christophe14 Very sad. It is happening in the UK under "The Online Safety Bill" which is traversing through our Parliament. There is little we can do. If we protest we are called far right and pornographers (which I am not BTW) by the left and "what about our children online safety". Little do they realise as with all politics, there is the law of unintended consequences and these lefties will be silenced too by Government.
At least China are blatantly up front about banning websites with the Great Firewall, especially western web sites (good example of a country censoring free speech). Maybe we should follow suit on some that cause damage to society such as gambling sites perhaps. But as I am not an autocratic ruler, I am unable to do this, but wouldn't anyway for democratic and moral reasons.
Bear in mind Googles move towards censorship with it's DRM based internet, which would allow them, Amazon and Apple to control site content.
It is coming from all angles, but hopefully will never arrive.

@Keneda Let's admit that a few bad technocratic decisions are made, it won't change much I think because in the world of foss, I don't speak for UT specifically but all OS, many browsers are in circulation (and perhaps more after that), the sources are mainly free access and everyone is free to put in or remove the packages they want. This is just my reflection as a non-specialist.
And the thing is that I can't see politicians alienating themselves from, for example, Firefox, a secure browser (so far) and very efficient and surely widely used in all aspects of administration. Beware of the perverse effects of bad political decisions.
