UBports try to reboot in fastbootd
-
Hello, i try to install ubuntu touch with UBports. My device is Poco X3 NFC, i did the downgrade with fastboot and miflash tool. After i start UBports everything works fine until the step rebooting to fastbootd. Ubports installer does not continue. but on the phone you can already see fastbootd, there are four different choices: reboot system now, enter recovery, reboot bootloader, power off.
i think i have to make a choice on the phone for ubport to continue but which one? Thanks for reading and if i get an answer i would be very happy. greetings, ben
sry, for my bad engl. -
@MrT10001 I am using Windows.
@beyolf Thank you for the advice. Now the installation worked. This is how I did it:I let the installer run again until the installer stopped at "Rebooting to fastbootd". I manually updated two optional drivers in the Windows Update settings. They are called:
- LeMobile - Other hardware - Android Composite ADB Interface
- LeMobile - Other hardware - Android Bootloader Interface
After the installation of these two drivers finished the installation process finished automatically.
I don't know if both drivers were necessary or if one of them would have been enough.
Thank you for everyone who answered here.

Hi @biba,
sorry for answering to this old thread but I have a similar problem. Did you find a solution for this problem? -
@fairose The OP hasn't logged in since Februari, my guess is they moved on.
-
@arubislander I've seen that already too. But my question/problem is still the same:
Why does the UBports Installer (0.10.0) stop at "Rebooting to fastbootd" when the device successfully boots into fastbootd? I am using a fairphone 4. -
Are you running the installer on a Windows machine or Linux machine?
-
@fairose hello,
It looks like you are running the installer on Windows, the problem most probably is when your phone reboot in fastbootD it does not get recognized by your PC. You need to open the
Device Manager
and you need to set up the fastboot driver manually for the unrecognized device and then the installer will continue.This same thing happens to miatoll devices when using the UT installer on Windows , and the problem is not the UT installer but that windows don't know by default what driver to use when your device is in fastbootD, so the driver needs to be set manually from the
Device Manager
. The other option is just to install UT from Linux host (Linux recognize the device automatically)Best of luck!
