Update today.....
-
Update dropped in for Focal, r7, today so I allowed it to update. Rebooted and hung at the Lenovo screen.
Turned off, waited a few seconds and turned on again. No boot.
Held Volume Up, Volume down and power together. When the tablet vibrated, released the power button but kept the Volume buttons pressed. Went to a black screen and then booted as normal.
Battery was at 99%, now at 94%.

Update to r14. That was so joyful, a perfect reboot.
-
Update to r20... Bit of a swine to get to boot. Boot into recovery and then reboot did the trick.. Battery on 91%.
BTW, this is my messy setup with my main use UT phone. This is my scratch tablet with a smashed but working screen (with screen protector).

Update today, r24. Lovely boot into UT.

Update to r26 today. No boot, stuck at Lenovo screen.
Boot recovery, mount system and reboot. No joy.
Power off, then power button and Volume up, boots into UT, all lovely!
OK...
On another tablet, it failed to boot properly. To solve:
Power off the tablet and wait 20+ seconds to ensure it is off and doesn't reboot.
Then boot to recovery (hold Volume Up+Volume Down and power. When it vibrates and powers on, release the power button, but keep both volume up and volume down pressed until it gets to recovery)
In recovery, go to Advanced and Mount the system.
Then reboot to recovery.
Then reboot
Voila, booted into UT.... -
Update to r31. Another pig to boot again, but got there.

@MrT10001 It really is hit or miss for you, eh?
-
@arubislander It is! I have 5 of these tablets 2 on Xenial and 2 on Focal. It is a pig to boot up on both, but with a bit of messing it gets there. Once in UT, it just works (apart from the cameras on Focal). I have at some time got to get boot logs to see what's stopping boot after power off, battery running out or a reboot.

Updated to r65 today. All went well.
Advice, make sure it is charged up and remove the power or take it off dock when updating.
-
Updated to r71 today. No reboot after install. Had to boot into Recovery, Mount system, Reboot to Recovery, Power off, leave for 5 minutes, Boot into Recovery and Reboot to get UT up and going.

Little 17Mb update today. Installed no problem and no problem rebooting!
