Morph browser - webapps issues and Javascript

This thread may be of assistance.

@MrT10001 said in Morph browser - webapps issues and Javascript:
Document Viewer is based on LibreOffice which uses JavaScript and as an app is over 100mb in size.
You might be throwing Java and JavaScript in the same pile.

@arubislander Thread edited. I couldn't find the other thread for some reason. But @AppLee 's answer seems most appropriate. They use Java on a system I use at work, which constantly crashes (lack of investment to update things).
-
@MrT10001 Sure, but the OP is asking about Javascript, not Java. Different language altogether.
@diddub All browsers on UT support Javascript, otherwise nearly no modern website would work. However all of the browsers in the app store, including Morph, all use the same web engine, QtWebEngine, which is a stripped down Chromium based engine.
Mimi browser uses Webkit. But this browser is in a (pre)alpha stage of development currently. The Skype webapp, however, does not work, because it probably expects a newer version of the Javascript runtime than is available for QtWebEngine. If that is the case, there is not much you can do about it as a user.
If you have developer skills, you might want to dive in and debug it, to at least have an idea what it is the browser is complaining about.

@arubislander : Ok, thank you very much, it is much more clear for me now. I will try to contact the Skype app developer to see if he can fix the problem.
-
Problem is the same with Telegram app. Video calls not working because this outdated Morph Browser... That's sucks...
-
@diddub no one has yet succeeded in making video calls with any app on UT.
-
@arubislander I thought it was possible with Jitsi.
-
@Moem I have tried in the past and wasn't able to get it done on Focal. And I haven't heard of anyone currently able to. But maybe 'nobody has been able to' is too strong a claim.
-
@arubislander , @Moem
For sure I was unable to make any connection to Jitsi on focal. -
@AppLee Well, as @TheVancedGamer would say:
Sad. -
