Lock screen doesn't lock
-
Hi
I have a Nexus 4 mako with Ubuntu 15.04 (OTA-15) installed and it appears to be working fine apart from the lock screen, whatever I set, passphrase or 4-digit PIN to it only uses Swipe (no security) to unlock it.
I don't have this issue with my OnePlus One which is also running Ubuntu Touch.
The steps I followed to install on the mako are documented here.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks.

Do you have "uAdBlock" installed like the guy who commented on this issue https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/410
-
No, the only thing installed so far is the OpenStore App.
-
I have tried the suggestion here of re-booting multiple times but that hasn't had an effect after doing it four or five times.

I reflashed the device and now it works!

I realize this is an old thread, but when searching the forums for a fix this is the thread that appears first for this issue... and it makes more sense to me to keep the issue organized here than create another newer thread and reference this.
Running the latest Xenial (16.04 OTA-25), I've somehow glitched the lockscreen to only ever require swiping, regardless of passcodes or passphrases being toggled, or the password changed with passwd.
Related issues that were opened at one time or another and closed with no solution:
https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/260
https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/410Rebooting several times saw no change at all, and using the wipe/reset phone option under Settings did not restore the proper lockscreen functioning. Reflashing the phone as mentioned above is probably the only fix at this point, and I'll have to do that soon, but I'd be curious to know if anyone has had the same problem on Focal and if there has been any fix for it found? I don't really want to try enabling a passcode on my daily driver only to find out it's also glitched and it needs to be reinstalled too.

I've never had this issue on Xenial or Focal. What's more, this is the first time I've heard of this issue. I've used Oneplus One, Xperia X and Oneplus 5t.
I would reflash if you can, it's easy and safe and fixes a lot of issues.

@clicker, I also have never had this issue. You mention using
passwd
to try to resolve it. I wonder if you might have usedpasswd
before and that that is the cause of the issue in the first place. The only thing I would like to add to what @Moem said is: First reflash without ticking the wipe option. (In fact, I would leave all the options unticked) If that doesn't fix it (which I suspect it won't) then you will unfortunately have to backup the data you care about, flash with (only) the wipe option ticked, and then restore the data.

@arubislander Yeah, I've never encountered this issue as well except when dealing with external displays. Using
