        Hello!
I've been using UT as a daily driver on my Google Pixel 3a for a little bit and as a fun side thing for about a year. I just started messing with waydroid as I need it (I think) to run some apps that are important for my work/friend groups like MS Teams, 2FA apps, slack, etc. so I haven't experienced waydroid on update. I know if you remount the filesystem as rw to avoid libertine, any stuff done is reset on UT update, whereas the partition for the user data is preserved.

When UT updates, does any progress made on Waydroid reset as well? I'd like to stop carrying my old iPhone places, but to do that I need my authenticator apps on my pixel, but losing my authenticator apps to an update or bug would be a big inconvenience. If Waydroid does get reset and I cannot move my authenticator apps to them, does anyone have a recommended path forward to be rid of the ios plague? My first and only real thought would be to try to install a separate waydroid instance in a libertine container.

@wolfgang1 Ubuntu Touch system updates may sometimes include a new version of WayDroid.

Alternatively, you can update the WayDroid image by opening the terminal and typing:

          sudo waydroid upgrade

I believe you can also do this directly in the WayDroid system settings (LineageOS). However, it has been a while since I last tried this.

In any case, there should be no loss of data. (As with any update, there is always a small risk that something could go wrong.)

@wolfgang1 I think @stanwood is right, but there may be a waydroid update glitch. See my thread here:

I did some further research and found that possibly the vendor blobs for the GPS disappeard from the vendor partition. I doubt that this was caused by the last OTA update ( I would have expected more people to have this issue). So I assume that the linage update inside waydroid might have caused this. I have not yet had time to look into it further or to reflash android11.
