          @ravachol This information is outdated, Ubuntu Touch has VoLTE support and it has been stated in the development blog that FP4 has received VoLTE updates recently. It may still require polishing, or your device's modem doesn't support operator frequencies, it rarely happens.

            @idonthatevests Thank you. I switched to the daily channel (was on stable) but it didn't help.

              @idonthatevests said in Can't make or receive calls:

              24.04.2

              How would I install 24.04.2?

              I changed the channel to rc but it's still on 24.04-1.1.

                @ravachol Probably you can use the ubports installer.

                  Important question: what version of android was on the phone before installing Ubuntu Touch ?

                      Is there some whitelisting or something that the carrier must do for it to work?

                        Ok I found this:

                        "How do I know if VoLTE is working?
                        For VoLTE to work, the following conditions have to be met:

                        Your phone supports VoLTE on Ubuntu Touch.

                        Your carrier and your SIM card supports VoLTE.

                        Ubuntu Touch contains a VoLTE configuration for your carrier.

                        If the conditions are met, and the phone successfully establishes a VoLTE connection, the VoLTE logo will appear after your carrier name in the Network indicator."

                        My phone does not have the VoLTE logo so I guess, Ubuntu Touch does not contain a VoLTE configuration for my carrier. Does anyone know where I can access a list of supported carriers?

                          I had the same problem as you on a pixel 3A but on Tele2.
                          Because the sms/mms works means that you have VoLte on the phone. Here comes the problem, you are missing Emergance Calls over VoLte and your phone is blocked from making any phonecalls both incomming and outgoing.

                          https://pts.se/internet-och-telefoni/teknikskifte/

                          Internet and sms/mms still works on the phone.

                          I don't know if it is a missing feature that needs to be implemented in UT or it is a limitation in the hardware.

                              I don't know because I installed Ubuntu Touch first thing I did.

                              I tried calling 112 and it worked actually, I got a tone. Just normal calls don't.

                                I suspect that there is something wrong with the apn settings. Do you have one apn for internet and one for sms?

                                  @Rondarius

                                  My APN settings look like this:

                                  3 (enabled)
                                  Internet and MMS

                                  3 SE MMS (disabled)
                                  MMS

                                  Both settings are the same however, and enabling the second one doesn't make a difference.

                                  APN
                                  data.tre.se

                                  mmsproxy.tre.se

                                  Proxy Port
                                  7899

                                  Username
                                  Blank

                                  Password
                                  Blank

                                  I can press + and there is a third setting for LTE there, but I enter data there and press the checkmark, but it is not added to the list.

                                      @Rondarius I've done that many times.

                                      I also tried enabling ims by running:

                                      sudo ./activate-context 3
                                      sudo systemctl restart ofono

                                      but ofono set's it back to disabled when it activates.

                                      These are the settings:

                                      [ /ril_0/context3 ]
                                      Name = IMS
                                      Active = 0
                                      Preferred = 0
                                      Type = ims
                                      Protocol = dual
                                      AccessPointName = ims
                                      Username =
                                      Passord =
                                      AuthenticationMethod = any
                                      Settings = { }
                                      IPv6.Settings = { }

                                      I think I need to change carrier or maybe swedish carriers aren't supported by ubuntu touch.

                                          The sad thing is that it is a hit and miss with the carriers.
                                          Tele2 had working calls, sms, mms on pixel 3a before VoLte. I had to figure out the right apn settings because the recommended settings just worked halfway.
                                          Check if there exists other values for the apn settings.

                                            @Rondarius I managed to change the AccessPointName to ims.tre.se (data.tre.se gave an error)

                                            Then set it to active. But when i run systemctl restart ofono it gets set to active = 0 again.

                                            My guess is my carrier is rejecting the connection after which ofono disables it again. Or something like that.
