What is quality level of external wireless display mode on Nord N10 5G
-
Hi all,
I installed UT (24.04.1) on a Pixel 3A XL I bought a few weeks ago, and tried External Wireless Display mode (Miracast).
It worked surprisingly well (a bit wavy, showing a spreadsheet). [3A XL worked GREAT compared to my Pixel 4XL (LOS23.1) casting to same TV- but via Chromecast-HDMI adapter]. But of course, NO VoLTE (critical in USA) on 3A XL.
So, I bought a Nord N10 5G BE2028 on Ebay.
Oneplus refuses to send bootloader unlock token (whole other threads ...), so I can't install UT.
SO, I searched for an answer via Google, and got various (conflicting) answers, with the most promising suggesting Wireless Ext Display mode for Nord N10 improved with most recent releases.
Can anyone here give some sort of description of level of functionality sending to something like a 1080P or 4K TV ?
Especially nice would be if there is some comparison to the function on a 3A XL.
Thank You. -
@oldbutndy Hey, unsure why you need unlock codes from OnePlus (maybe my situation was different) but I unlocked mine with this: https://www.getdroidtips.com/unlock-relock-bootloader-onepus-nord-n10-n100/
Anyway, I don't have a Miracast, but I can cast Jellyfin to my Panasonic TV with does 1080p with perfect quality from my N10.
Does this help?

Do you have a Jellyfin client running on your TV as well? In that case it is not comparable.

No, my TV has not a Jellyfin client. I cast it to my TV from my phone.

@RapidRotator then that is probably the chromecast protocol.. again, not quite the same.

Hi, In USA, when a phone is sold by a carrier (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc) they usually lock the bootloader in such a way that the method you linked to above will not work. So, you can apply to Oneplus, after phone is paid off, & carrier unlocked, for a bootloader unlock token. for my BE2028 (originally sold by T-mobile, but I recently bought used on Ebay), Oneplus refused, stating their reason as "T-Mobile is not an authorized reseller".
Apparently, if I was original owner, & purchased phone through T-Mobile, they might have unlocked it.
Also, the carrier unlocked USA model BE2026, apparently does not require Oneplus token.
