A few days ago I reported in this exact forum that I wasn't able to get waydroid on my brand new Volla phone plinius as it required a halim 14 version of waydroid that was not yet released/done for the Volla Phone Plinius.

Since that that day I have done a lot more research into the topic and learned that it can be compiled and built by your """"average"""" guy, compiling and building a program in all my years on linux is something I have rarely done but I decided to try, needles to say I wouln't be making this post if that went well, I keep messing it up and hitting walls, it is simply not my cup of tea.

That's why I am asking here for anyone that is more used to compiling and building programs to build and compile the waydroid halium_14 image and vendor/halium_14.json needed for waydroid on the Volla phone plinius.

Please, I live in a country that have essential apps that I need access to, heck I'd even offer money for anyone to do so but I am not sure if that is against the rules for this forum.

Plignus is a volla device, and volla is commited to the task of making things work under Ubuntu Touch (they are the porters of Ubuntu Touch on their devices, and making waydroid to work on a port is a porter task).

Maybe you should try first to ask support for that kind of requests on volla forums.

@Keneda As much as I agree with you, and as much as I love Volla, the volla forum is pure gambling my dude, it's like watching paint dry and you may never get an answer to your problems, just silence unless you're german that is.

At least on the ubuntu touch forums there are more people here and a higher chance of getting help, and lots of people are here with volla support requests, idk man, it felt like an attack the way you phrased that as if I am doing something wrong by asking for help on ubuntu touch on the ubuntu touch forum...?

@keneda said actually 'Maybe you should try first'

As for me I'll call this a 'suggestion', certainly not an 'attack'.

I'll share some reservations about the english speaking Volla forums (did not try the german ones). I did get an answer, but it was not very informative, so finally I answered my own question (much later).

Another suggestion (feel free to characterize that as an attack if you want) could be to post a work item on the Gitlab repo for the device here

You'll be more likely to interact directly with the person(s) doing the actual porting job. There is actually a work item created already. In it the dev seems to say it's possible with 'shenanigans', maybe could give you some tips if you ask nicely.

@gpatel-fr Look I am not trying to fight anyone, I ask a request about compiling and building a halium 14 set for waydroid on the waydroid part of the ubuntu touch forum and then immediately gets told to redirect my question to the Volla forum which is not only hard to navigate because ofnthe german UI but the english ubuntu touch part of the forum isn't very active.

I am also active on the volla forums but engagement there is crickets compared to engagement here (again unless you're german), you yourself confirm this in your reply to me.

Sorry but me being told to direct my request to another forum do feel like an attack/backhanded comment, not in necessarily a malicious sense but in a sense of being told that "we don't want you here", your comment that I would immediately take your suggestion as an attack too also do feel like a sarcastic jab although much weaker than the first guy.

I apologize if I offended through my comments and replies, I am autistic and have a tendency to read to deep into what someone writes online, I am sorry I did that, any and all help is appreciated, your link is something that is genuinely helpful.

right, you have to know that first, the Plinius port is very recent and not well known outside of core devs, and second, core developers presence here is very limited.

The bulk of help here is provided by 'advanced' users, not developers.
