I'd like to convert from android to Linux
-
I am not new to tech, but at 66, I am an avid Linux OS user on my home systems. I have been that way for years.
Although I am just starting to explore the world of phones, I am particularly intrigued by the capabilities of the Ubuntu Touch. It seems to be a versatile platform, especially when paired with the Google Pixel 7.
I will buy a Google Pixil Carrier/Factory unlocked per what I read and can find. Will Google Pilix 7 work with "touch."
I run a "Moto G stylus 5G" phone, and I do not want to bother that as an Android. Plus, I need to find out if it is compatible.
Can I get some Pointers? Meaning some Links? This is how I learned to install Linux 2l5 years ago.

@Pastor-David-R Welcome to the forums. UT is a great platform indeed. But due to the nature of mobile hardware, it is not installable on every device. Lack of hardware standardization means that post need to made to each device specifically.
You asked for links. The devices page is a good place to start. Here you find what devices are supported, and how well.

@arubislander, thank you. Yes, I asked for the links. I read, believe me, and I read. I had a dude 75 years old teach me Linux desktop 20+ years ago.

@Pastor-David-R If you live in a country where Fairphones are available, you may want to get a look at it.

Hey @Pastor-David-R, just wanted to say, really cool to hear you are looking at running UT in place of android! Im similar, as im a lover of linux generally and use linux desktop OSs for work and life on my home systems. About 5 years ago i felt the same as you have said now and had similar questions to what you asking.
I just wanted to say that i have been very happily using and loving UT as my daily phone OS since 5 years ago and similar to you, while i have always been 'techy', i did not know much about phone stuff back then but now im here it actaully is really easy to get a phone setup with UT, once you've picked one that suits you from the supported devices @arubislander linked.
Just to put my bit out, like @Keneda said, fairphone are really cool but for me were too pricey (from my experience), so i just wanted to suggest Oneplus Nord N10 also, as it is a pretty good phone, you can find them fairly cheap (from my experience) and they run UT really stable (also from my experience).
