Hello world,
So i have been searching online and this forum for information about maybe a android gsi counterpart for Ubuntu touch but so far i couldn't find anything or at least recent?
Basically i want to know if it is possible to install Ubuntu touch on any device like with the android gsi?
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I am not a programmer or what not i just am really interested in this os. And would to like to install this on the phones and tablet i have laying around here at home. kinda like Ubuntu desktop you can install on any computer.

No. Every port needs to be specifically made for a specific model. Otherwise, there would be tons more supported devices.
That's why we have a list: because all other devices are not supported. -

U know the ability to install it on any phone?Is there somewhere I can request such a thing?

U know the ability to install it on any phone?Because it's not possible. Phones are too different from each other. Not like PCs, which are much more similar.
Porting is a lof of work and if such a shortcut existed, you can be sure it would be used. -
As Moem pointed out, if it was that easy it would have been done before. A search through the forums brings up porters attempts at this which have been developmental but not gone mainstream./e/OS have this for their privacy based Android OS which requires "triple" enabled devices and highly experimental. If only all devices were created equal....

However it has been abonded but it proves it is infact possible.
Where can I suggest this to the powers that be?
If we have this ability to have Ubuntu touch on any android (older) device that would be amazing truly and greatly increase the range of Ubuntu touch.
What do you guys think

It's abandoned because it is a dead end.
Any device ported with the "GSI" approach was not full fonctionnal and resulted in devices not daily usable unless someone debuged it and patched it.
So same amount of work, if not more, than the classic "halium" porting method.
For a device to be daily usable it needs a good port, so a porter commited to that port, not someone using "GSI" thing and going away after.@Luksus would way better explain the GSI issue to you.

In addition to what the others have said, there are no 'powers that be' to suggest this to either. Most everyone involved in this project is volunteering their time and talent and passion.
If there is something you would like to see done in this project, the best way is to put in the effort yourself to (learn to) do it. Asking someone to give of their time to cater to your desire is bad form.
