Hi I've just been wondering if it would be possible to port ubports to project treble in the form of a GSI using something like this
        https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-discussion/guide-how-to-build-project-treble-gsi-t3801803
Could phhusson treble device tree be used as a target to build for, I'm going to have a go at building and see what happens but I thought I'd ask here incase someone that knows about this kind of thing has tried

What is a GSI? And what is a phhusson? Ah seems the latter is a user name on xda.

Have you checked in halium telegram/irc group? On and off there were comments about treble. I think it relies on newer android, which halium would have to be updated to.

            Hello,

I do not think this will work since Ubuntu Touch uses not a standard way of building it. Its also not a "ROM" since its loaded to the phone in a different way.

Also we do not support Android 8.1 at the moment...

@gudishvibes Please note this is not fully intergrated with our systems if you try it. No OTA updates and maybe more kernel patches in the future.

@Lakotaubp is it possible for you to adopt it?

Read it on xda, biggest part is Halium and the kernel

Maybe you could adopt him in a "device porting team", if you have one ^^

Anyway, good news, androΓ―d 9 based devices are recent and numerous now (let's hope this will be done with all GSI compatible androΓ―d versions).
