I'm using Firefox on Ubuntu Touch (focal), but I've found that I can't copy anything to native apps.

I don't know if it this is limited to Firefox, or if it still happens with a physical keyboard, but it seems to me that the clipboard isn't being shared with the native/host OS. Is this intended behavior and is there a way to workaround it?

@hlbkv It's probably using xwayland/wayland which don't have clipboard support as far as I know. Only Libertine apps have clipboard support if I am not mistaken.

@kugiigi What exactly is a 'Libertine' app in this context? There is no native Firefox app in UT, I've installed and am running it w/ Libertine.

Also, for reference, I noticed that pinned tabs don't survive closing/reopening Firefox.

@hlbkv A Libertine app is ran inside a container. Actually Firefox has been packaged for Ubuntu Touch in the .click format, see the GitLab repository, clipboard should work there.

May the source be with you

@ikoz said in Sharing clipboard with native apps:

Precisely, hence why I didn't understad @kugiigi comment.

As for the alternative you suggest, I'll check it out, but it's still a bit outdated, I'd rather run an up-to-date version.
I'm assuming there is a workaround to get clipboard to work within the Libertine container.

I haven't tried Libertine in a while. Clipboard and content hub is properly implemented in libertine apps which used xmir. My guess is that Libertine now use xwayland/wayland amd the clipboard implementation isn't working anymore.

@kugiigi I do have a 'X11 support' running anytime I load up firefox, not sure if that's a staple of xwayland or xmir.
