@domubpkm Could you elaborate on that? What exactly doesn't work correctly?

@domubpkm I can not confirm this. On mine the player is working like expected. It shows my music and it also plays the selected songs.

Well eventually I did make the upgrade, and It did break the system. Reboots to a slightly flickering screen.

              I'm currently reinstalling the system....

EDIT: reinstall worked, I'm now running 24.04-1.1 with success!

After the upgrade I cannot watch videos with the Multimedia player, do you experience the same problem?

@pparent Watch videos with media player and record videos work for me on my Volla 22. Did you try to switch off (not reboot) and restart again the phone to see if you have the same problems ?

I had never noticed it because I don't use much the camera, but playing is a bit unreliable on my FP5. I can record (did not try hard, a few seconds) but displaying them sometimes crashes (stop, may display some bands of colours, especially when trying to do a replay. Also the frame counter don't seem to update when playing.

I uploaded 2 mp4 files from my computer and it could display them all right, maybe it's a problem with the camera recording. Short ones, but longer than my test recording (as in 1 minute long) and they have not crashed even if replaying 3 times in a row. Also the counter seems to work all right for these ones.

It's quite possible that these little problems where there before my last update to 24.04.1 as I never looked seriously at this part of UT. For the FP5 things work but they don't feel quite rock solid.

@pparent If you think these are bugs it's best to file bug reports on Gitlab. Here on the forum it gets lost and the dev's won't notice them.

@pparent It should work but as nobody has the same phone with the same things above, diifficult to answer. Conflicts ? corrupted files ? or maybe the flash went wrong...

yes could you give a try to the following command on your device ?

                                      gdbus introspect --session --dest com.lomiri.MediaScanner2.Extractor --object-path /com/lomiri/MediaScanner2/Extractor

to see if it could be a problem with the service configuration on your port

                                      and maybe

                                      ls /usr/share/dbus-1/services/com.lomiri.MediaScanner2.Extractor.service

                                      ldd /usr/libexec/mediascanner-2.0/mediascanner-extractor

uh, not much of a smoking gun in these outputs - look pretty normal.
Last attempt for today, output of :

                                          journalctl --user -e -u mediascanner-2.0.service

                                          please.

Could it be because I have files of wrong types in the wrong folder? Since @domubpkm also reported a problem with music when an audio file was in pictures?

                                              I should have asked for

                                              journalctl --user -e -u mediascanner-2.0.service | cat

did not think about the length of the lines, we don't see all the interesting parts.

About the file type, I tried to add a pdf file and it did not fool the mediaplayer. No problem here.

Edit: I have an error in the service log about the wrong file type for the pdf file like you have (Error when adding new file), but it does not stop the video files to be played. On your phone the video files are not recognized.
