I am new to linux phones and I have just installed 24.04 on Fairphone 5 and I would like to know if the following apps are available:
- WireGuard for VPN
- xfreerdp for remote desktop when using the phone with external screen
- Conversation for xmpp chat audio/video client
Many thanks and keep up the good work!

Is there a good client for desktop? in this case it could possibly be ported.
(I'm not using xmpp so I don't know how it is). -
@pparent Dino could be a good candidate chat works but no voice or video calls possibly due to missing dependencies. The UI is not touch friendly.
Personally I think these types of calls should be part of the calls and messaging apps. -

It's usually not smart to insist on the same app to appear on UT. But there are three outdated XMPP apps. Maybe one of these can be updated?

I'm going to move this topic into the App Development subsection since it's not about the OS.

@Moem @pparent thanks for the answers, on linux Gajim, Dino are the popular ones, Dino support audio call too. On Android converstion is the best app.
xmpp is the protocol and it is pretty much same popular as matrix. There are pros and cons, both are great however currently the Ubuntu Touch 24.04 does not have any working client. I tested ConverseJS but it does not connect, looks like not using the usual way other clients. No other option available in the UBport app store.
This would be super important to have xmpp support because many people switch to custom roms due to privacy and they use either xmpp or matrix for communication.
Also wireguard VPN client would be great, because many people use opensource firewalls like OPNsense and this one is already phasing out the old openvpn and use wireguard from now on.

That's correct. That's why I said they are outdated. Of course, that depends on finding a volunteer who has the time, the skills and wants to take this on.
What we do have is a native Matric client. It's called Cinny UT.

There is an experimental port of Kaidan being developed: https://gitlab.com/alaskalinuxuser/kaidan_0_6_0
