Hello Community,
We have decided to add this new section to our Forums, called UBports International. In this section, for now, you'll find the subsections for three different languages: Dutch, German and French.
We believe that this section will lower the language barrier for some existing and new forum members. It should allow more people to use the UBports Forum to ask and answer questions about Ubuntu Touch, stay in contact with the community and to get and give support with apps and the OS more freely.These three languages were chosen because we have an existing user base made up by people who speak these languages, and importantly because we have moderators who are native speakers. In the future we will consider adding other languages, if both of these conditions are met. For now, we will start with these three so that we can see whether it works as expected.
Please remember that normal Form rules still apply to this section. So If you speak French, German or Dutch, Welcome... come in and say bonjour, guten Tag or hoi!

Can we apply to have a subforum in Catalan? I could moderate it. We are ~35 users in the Telegram group. -

The answer comes in two parts:
- We feel that new moderators should have a little more time under their belt. Talk to us in three months please.
- We also want to try out the new situation for a while, and not bother the forum administrator with new changes every week. So we will evaluate that, too, in three months.
And here's something extra: we will be welcoming a native Italian as a new moderator soon, which means that in three months, they will have enough experience to moderate that future Italian section, especially with a second person to help.
In other words: it's not happening right away but the future looks good.

Of course I'll be happy to help with the french language moderation, as native french speaker....
Unfortunately my German is not so good, and I don't speak Dutch (NL) at all...

Great! Feel free to start a welcome topic, or any other topic that you feel the French subsection would benefit from. Vive la France!

If I understand well, the 'international topics' are used to help the users that don't speak English ?

We don't know either, it's a new thing that we are trying out. Let's give it a chance, and after a while we can evaluate and see if anything needs to be changed.
