Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.2

@kugiigi
Yes, and in the past, starting the Bluetooth connection from the system settings/Bluetooth has always given better results. -
@kugiigi said in Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.2:
There's a known issue with bluetooth
browsing https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/packaging/bluez/-/issues does not bring something looking like that.
If it's a known problem, where is it tracked ? or is it this closed issue ? -
@kugiigi said in Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.2:
There's a known issue with bluetooth where it is in a state where your paired devices aren't listed in the bluetooth page and you can't connect.
Thank you, I will experiment when I have more time than I do today.

I notice no vibration on sony xperia X. (at start, with keyboard...). Is it a probleme on my device or with the 24.04-1.2 RC (1 & 2) ?

Hi @DJac,
@DJac said in Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.2:
In my case, the bluetooth stuff works too (a samsung sound speaker)
So far, I haven't found a device that plays the sound, but a Sharp radio with Bluetooth could play music from my Xperia, but with interruptions, and every time it resumed, the song played faster than usual, as if it wanted to make up for the interruption.

My Xperia has no problems with pressing the keyboard and the "echo" from the vibration.
Or have I misunderstood something?Greetings
Mario -
@Mario.CH
it is okay : the absence of vibration is probably somthing brake in my old phone... (like the camera) -
This is odd, but in a good way. I just switched back to 1.x RC to test, and I can report that my Pebbles now work! The oddness is: when it didn't work, RC 1.2 was already out, but apparently I was on RC 1.1 somehow.
I don't care very much, I'm just happy to report that it works

Thank you for additional testing. At least we know it's not a regression.

@Vlad-Nirky the same probleme was report :
https://forums.ubports.com/topic/11938/anyone-else-is-having-wrong-caller-id-when-receiving-a-cal/6
no solutions actualy, but a Git issue is open.
https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/packaging/ofono/-/issues/3Thank you for bringing up reported issue. Preliminary investigation showed that the problem does not seem to be caused by changes introduced between 24.04-1.1 and 24.04-1.2. We're going to continue investigation in the issue mentioned in the quote.

We've discussed about this issue in a meeting, and have decided to not hold Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.2 for Xperia X based on this issue, as it's better for Xperia X to receive up-to-date software, even if it's not perfect.
We'll continue to look into this; I've filed a GitLab issue for this.

I just flashed my Xperia X to Noble and vibration is working, so I suspect a hardware problem on your end.

@Moem I confirme that : i juste reinstall the stable version (20.04 - ota11). And i have no vibrations too : so, it confirme that, it is a device error. (the same device with the same version - my maindevice - have vibrations).
Sorry for the confusion... -

Thank you for testing! Now we can be certain.

I'm wondering if the problem regarding the reported loss of handsfree via Bluetooth has been resolved? Thanks for the info.
-
@OtaDr Reported where? I never had a functional handsfree with UT. And I am on UT since 2015 with several devices and several software-versions and several cars with different infotainment-systems

I'm not aware of a Bluetooth-related issue being fixed in this release. Could you please provide me with a reference to the report?

Handsfree voice call has been broken and fixed several times in the life of Ubuntu Touch, a number of times by me
. So I'm sorry to hear that handsfree has never been working for you. The challenge of Bluetooth handsfree support is the sheer number of handset vendors who could have their own quirks & behaviors, so it's really hard to get all of them tested.May I know which device do you have?

@peat_psuwit Actually I'm using a Volla (yggdrasil) and Volla22 (mimameid). I know it's hard to get all the combinations of phone/software/car to work, but I always have a smile on my face when I'm using one of my old Nokia (yes I'm still using them), which are now around 15-20 years, running S30+, S40 and S60, and they simply connect to every car I had and work flawless (telephony, addressbook and media/music).

I may have discovered an issue with Postal/Lomiri Push Service/Lomiri URL Dispatcher. I'm not sure which component is affected, but basically, Indra notifications stopped working after I upgraded to the RC a few days ago. I finally just sat down to figure this out, and I was able to get notifications to show up again if I remove the
actionsarray from the notification JSON. Put the actions back, no notifications appear. Importantly, the notifications do fire, they just don't show up in the top bar. This code worked before i upgraded to the RC: https://git.agnos.is/projectmoon/indra/src/branch/master/indra/src/notify.rs#L72
Now it only works if i remove the
"actions": [ ... ]field.Edit: It seems to happen on the stable version of 24.04-1.2 as well.
