      I have a Meizu MX4 with Ubuntu Touch installed on it. It has the latest OTA version that Canonical released before they dropped Ubuntu Touch. My problem is now that the touchscreen on is busted. A 50 pound dumbbell accidently grazed it. I have been trying to find a way to unlock the phone because sliding doesn't work anymore but pressing seems to be registrating. Is there a way to unlock the phone over USB or similar? There a few pictures on the phone I would like to back up.

        @afettouhi I haven't tried it myself yet but @Flohack explained this method yesterday:

        • Put the phone on Recovery Mode
        • With the phone connected to your computer (usb cable), run adb pull /data/system-data and adb pull /data/user-data

        You can give that a try 🙂

          @advocatux I put the device in recovery mode but when I try to connect to it with adb I get this:

          [af@andre ~]$ adb devices
          List of devices attached
          75HABLPRVRCA offline

            I had the same problem with my BQ E5. Display was smashed (and currently is, cause I can't find a digitizer anywhere to buy & replace), picture working, but touch not (except a one finger wide stripe on top). I could not extract data, cause had not enabled developer mode previously. I solved it with USB OTG keyboard. With keyboard you can navigate through various menus and even unlock developer mode.

              @afettouhi do you have the chance to try what @jezek said? if you don't, we'll have to wait for @Flohack to give us more details about how his method works.

                @advocatux Yes I did and it doesn't work. I put the phone in recovery mode and connected it to myPC and tried to do the adb pull and I get an error message stating that it can't find a device.

                  @afettouhi I mean connecting an external keyboard to your phone using a usb OTG connector

                    @advocatux No I haven't tried that since I don't own a USG otg connector.
