I have problems opening sites with a self signed ssl cert. I know I can get a cert but I don't need one, I'm the only user. I can fetch the site with wget but Morph just gives me a blank page, no error message. The sites open correctly on chromium on Android.

Can someone confirm this behaviour? Is it a known issue? TIA

I think everyone has these issues. Hope they will be resolved by next Morph browser update.

As a workaround until this is changed in Morph browser you could try my approach for self-signed certificates (I had the issue in conjunction with CalDAV): https://forum.fairphone.com/t/ubports-16-04-updates-feature-tests/36656/16?u=ingo
