Let's just say I was to buy a phone with UBTouch (or whatever it's called) in 1-2 years. What apps would be preinstalled, regardless of the manufacturer?

Everyone believes that their actions are better than the alternatives.

        1-2 years from now?
I hope a good offline navigation, that works in rural areas around the world. Depending on, what maps are installed...
If the maps are not for free, that's fine. I would pay for it, rather than beeing lost...

I don't think stuff like that should be preinstalled, it can easily be downloaded from the OpenStore. Also, you would want to pay for the OS then? That does not sound like a good idea.

Btw, uNav is back in the OpenStore and will continued to be supported!

I would prefer to only ship apps that are either os-related or tightly integrated. Off the top of my mind:

          • Filebrowser (with Nextcloud sync integration)
          • Terminal
          • Contacts (with CardDav sync integration)
          • Phone
          • SMS
          • Email client
          • Clock
          • Calendar (with CalDav sync integration)
          • Camera
          • Gallery
          • Browser
          • Music
          • Settings
          • OpenStore

For other essential apps, i would suggest to create a curated category in the OpenStore so newbies can easily find the good apps.

[Edit: This list is just my opinion and not an official plan]

@Leppa We are currently building a list of apps in 3 categories:

              1. Core Apps
              • Clock, Calendar, Notes, etc...
              1. System Apps
              • Openstore, Settings, etc...
              1. Other important Apps
                Dekko, uNav, ...

              2. and probably most of 1) will be in our images. But all of them will be in the openstore for sure!

              3. will depend on the support of the original authors, if they want to have it there or not.

Hold on for the list, we are finishing that. And oh by the way, Apps are not our priority right now πŸ˜‰
