NexDock 2 and Ubuntu Touch

@magicalex75 It was the case on the first one: https://vimeo.com/nexdock
The second has USB-C though, maybe better to ask NexDock to make a new demo video
Peace,

As I understand it, NexDock 2 does not have present the kb/mouse over Bluetooth, so you would only be able to use it as a monitor for Nexus 4/5.
-
@tera When I hear back from them (assuming I do), I'll ask about an updated video. That's pretty nifty, though.
-
@dobey Kind of disappointing. I guess I could use the trackpad on the NexDock (even though I hate trackpads).
-
@magicalex75 The problem is that the Nexus 5 and 7 does not support video out and USB data/input simultaneously so you really won't be able to use the keyboard nor the trackpad.

In terms of specifications, the new Pinephone could work perfectly with the NexDock2.

It will not work over the USB-C as the Pinephone as I understand will not have SlimPort (DisplayPort alt mode), but straight HDMI. You would need an adapter to split the video out to the HDMI port on the NexDock 2, and use the USB-C for the kb/touchpad and charging connection.

If you have a compliant phone, does it mean you could achieve the same with any laptop that has a usb-c?
-
@kugiigi That crushes my hopes and dreams
Seriously, thanks for the information. Kind of sad, but I guess that gives me a good incentive to save my money and get a Librem 5 when they're available. By the time I have enough money, I'm sure version 2 (with any major bugs/issues squashed) will be out.

Nope.
