Update forum?

This forum is like blast from the past. Like it's 90's again. Which is not good in this case.
Not sure if this is community made but could we have more modern look to it with gimmicks we are accustomed from other forums. Like smileys, youtube etc. video embedding. Way to see when someone has answered to thread and possibility to have thread on tracking list. Proper quote system?

Can see what you mean, but I am one of the users who are just glad that Ubuntu Touch will live on. Hopefully, the forum will go forward with the things that you mentioned, but for me at the moment the OS going forward is more important.

I love the 90ies they were so Terchnicolor xD
TBH the forum looks very plain & simple but in fact it has a good reactive design, is very fast and allows good citing and mentioning of users like @alternator - tab press and you are in
The other things are nice to have, maybe some things can be added, but in General: I saw worse things already

@alternator
there a lot of different feelings about this. . i for myself doesnt like the new 'multimedia' style of a lot of current blogs and forums.
there i see emojis videos and have problems to see the answers of talking people. its overloadet with shiny-graphics.... but there are, how you say, different points of view. what if we had 2 sections of the forum... one with multimedia and one other part in the txt-90's style. -

Like you shouldn't complain about food if there is hunger somewhere in the world?
Things can improve and this website etc. is probably in someone else's hands than those who devel OS. Atleast it should be.

@alternator
and the users decide
if they dont like it, they can create there private websites on the net, or there join the telegram group. there are a lot of oportunities to join and with hard fair workload on it, you have your success.
the forum is comunity-driven. thats means there are a little number of people work hard in private spare time, to run the forum on pcs. if there are a lot of ubport- users want new stuff on it, they come together and than....its a question of workload, who will support it, who will pay for the changes.. so if you wish changes, find people, make ideas, wrote them down, delight people about your idea, make them enthusiastic about your idea, go viral about your idea, have fate and trust in it...evolve/ develope your idea with the comunity......so become a true patrone
