Any update on pine phone port?
-
One function often desired by the general public for a smart phone is video chat. It seems that there currently is no application on UT that can actually do this (the closest I have seen was the AppRTC demo, but even this was not able to truly correctly work, and it apparently relied on deprecated packages in order to do what little it could). Is this lack of video chat capability due simply to the lack of app development towards this, or is there something at the OS level that needs to be addressed in order allow app developers to create a workable solution for UT?
Best regards,

@TotalSonic Appear in from Openstore and Hublin as well, are web based solutions for video call/conference

@TotalSonic I thought it was working, it was promoted by Ubports team, ???
-
@TotalSonic We need QtWebEngine to be updated to use QtMultimedia, so it can access the camera, I think. It is not an easy task.
Video chat can be implemented otherwise, in a native app, but anything relying on a WebView will have problems until QtWebEngine can be fixed and updated in UT.

Hi Everone!
RCS is aiming at replacing SMS in a near futur.
Any plan to support it ?

Hi @wilfridd,
RCS was discussed in episode 33 of the Q&A, blog post here. Nothing significant has changed.
