I just purchased an unlocked Oneplus One to download Ubuntu touch. While trying to install through the provided installer, it stayed stuck on the "flashing the firmware" screen for a long time (4 hours plus)

Am i just impatient or does there seem to be a problem here?

@crr914 please double check dev mode is on, device is unlocked, usb debugging, adb and fastboot see the device. Then restart the installer use wipe if you can. This part should not take long.

@crr914 does the device reboot to fastboot?
Also latest installer https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/installer 0.4.9 if your not using that.

@crr914 OK, So the installer starts, device selected (with wipe?). It should then go to fastboot for firmware then to Recovery. Can you try putting the device into fast boot (then in a terminal run fast boot devices if you haven't to check it's detected ) then start the installer, try a different usb cable if you can. Leave the device in fastboot for this part.

@Lakotaubp I will give this a shot. I was able to find the device before with command prompt "adb devices" i believe...

I will let you know. Thank you for your quick responses

@crr914 Just tried with one of mine and this will annoy you about 10 seconds to flash firmware then need booting to recovery. So if the device is detected in fastboot is ok. If not double check again and swop cable.
What OS are you trying to install from? sorry should have asked.

What OS was installed in that phone? I'm trying to get one but Ubports says it needs to be one with Ubuntu installed for it to take UT. What I found has Android installed, so I did not buy it even though it is unlocked. Please tell me if I'm missing something here. Maybe your problem is the OS in your phone.

@crr914 Remove/ reinstall or update fastboot on your pc/laptop to start. If your using windows use 15 sec adb https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 and make sure it's system wide.
There are verious post on the web for setting up adb/fastboot check one of those and double check everything. Then try again. Also you need to grant permission for adb on the device via a popup window make sure that's done.
Will be back later vpushed this morning and good luck

So it looks like the issue was the cable switched it out and was able to get it downloaded.

Now whenever i unplug the phone from the computer than the phone just restarts over and over again

@crr914 Try running the installer again with the wipe option and install dev channel see if that changes things.
