Trouble With My APN Settings
-
Hello, I am having trouble with my apn settings.
Specifically:
-
When I send a group text, each person receives the text from me individually, not from me in the group.
-
I am unable to receive group texts.
-
When I use "Pure Maps" and other apps, they are not able to determine my location. (Edit I now realize this one may or may not be related to APN)
-
I recieve weird texts from "x-ofono-unknown"
-
The formatting of some of the texts I receive with a picture is messed up.
So far to try to fix this I have:
A. Got a brand new sim card from ATT
B. Checked ATT's recommended APN Settings for Android
C. Played with the APN settings in the phone (To no avail)One thing I have noticed, is ATT provides more recommended setting than the phone has input for.
My phones APN settings look like this:
ATT Recommends these settings for Android:
What do you guys think I should do?
Thanks.Oneplus One - UBorts image part 20200428-12824 - Release Candidate
** I have re sized images to specified size as requested.

Could you please edit your post and use downsized images that fit the forum (reduce it at least by 4)?
And you should tell what is your device (N5, OP3... etc) and what UBports version you run on it.
One thing i can tell you is on that image https://forums.ubports.com/assets/uploads/files/1590433273735-screenshot20200525_135024295.png the text out of square is a known but.
There is a fix for it, but not already released on Open Store. For APN you could try to delete all of them, and then reboot your phone.

I deleted all of them. I rebooted the phone. It did not work
I am still and having the trouble with the group texts. When I send a group text, each recipient receives the text for me individually, not me in the group. When when I am a recipient in a group text sent from someone else, I receive nothing at all.
Also why does ATT provide data for certain APN settings, that the phone does not have input for?

Is some APN were automatically recreated? What APN do you have now?
If you have to build it manually and if i refer to the ones from ATT you show, you have to use NXTGENPHONE one.I know there is also a bug with grouped textos, i can't send them (although last time i tried).
For the text under images bug, fix can be found here : https://github.com/ubports/messaging-app/issues/183For your other issue i can't tell
PS : thx for the downsizing, it's very better to read now.

After I deleted them and rebooted, a bunch of settings re-appeared in the phone. One of them was automatically selected. I went in and put what ATT said to put manually.
However, ATT has more data fields than the phone has input for. I wonder if this may be part of the problem.
The most important thing for me is to get group texts working. This is a feature that is very important to me.

My carrier too, anyway, SMS/MMS messaging works for me.
And if SMS/MMS works for you, but not grouped ones, then it's not an APN issue so keep the default created/activated APN on.I think you have an messaging-app issue and you're not alone having it.
See here for active issues, and submit yours if not already created : https://github.com/ubports/messaging-app/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue

Okay, I guess it isn't APN problem.
