      Hello,
On my nexus 5, When I try to dictate something, it doesn't work. I have this apparent option when I want to text someone. A small microphone on the right lower corner. Clicking on it tells me to hold, and when I do, I can see the seconds, and a red microphone, it seems to record, but when I'm finished, and remove my finger, nothing happens, and everything is gone.
Is there something I should do to make it work? I hate tactile screens and love dictating messages.

      Thank you for your reply.
      Rebecca

@Rebecca58 The problem has been fixed but NOT on stable channel (OTA-12). You must wait OTA-13 or go on RC channel.

I'm pretty sure that is for recording a voice message, not for dictation, btw.

@dobey Are you sure? Because I have this option on text messages. I have never sent voice messages through it before. Only from whatsapp or other apps, but not from the text messages.

@domubpkm it's a big shame! I have stable indeed. When is OTA-13 released?

NOT A SHAME AT ALL !! This is the normal procedure for updates: dev (once a day approx.), RC (once a week approx.), stable (it depends).
I don't know for the next stable release but you can try RC if you want (the rc channel is very stable anyway) and go back to stable if you're not happy with it.

Yes. UT does not have any voice assistant or dictation. It records an audio file and attaches it to the message, sending it as MMS instead.

@Rebecca58 To switch on RC, go to settings-> updates -> at the bottom "settings" and change channel stable to "Candidate", then go back and you will see an update to download.

You will not loose your data. It is safe

@lduboeuf thanks. Unfortunatelly, it just loads for ever and I can't change from Stable ...
