Oneplus one flash does not work
-
@marius-ciclistu I don't know the code, but it looks like it has been moved to gitlab https://gitlab.com/ubports/apps/camera-app
-
@joolz Thanks. I'll give it a look when I have some time. Maybe I'll find a solution for it.
-
Flash and zoom does not work, autofocus is qutie broken. Yes its a known bug since 4 years, sorry that no one so far could fix it
-
@Flohack Autofocus can be used with grid mode and some pacience by taping into the rectangle:)
The issue is that this repo is archived and in readonly mode.. https://github.com/ubports/camera-app
I can't open an issue. Anyway, I'm pull the repo and have a look through it maybe I'll win "the lottery" and find a potential fix for the flash, as it works from battery settings in flashlight mode, so a way to trigger it exists. -
@marius-ciclistu We moved some gore apps here, please use the tracker there: https://gitlab.com/ubports/apps/
-
@marius-ciclistu Also, this is not a failure of camera-app:
- Camera-App uses qtubuntu-camera, a Qt/QML wrapper that calls into libhybris, and from there into the Android Camera API. The prolbems are there.
- Camera-App is "lightweight" (stupid in some terms) as it can only say "focus please" but the call will be multiple times converted. Also, Oneplus One uses an odd camera in Android 5.1 that is kinda broken and following the old Android camera API (1.0 I think). We do not have this problem on any other phone.
Its truly device specific. Please dont file an issue in camera-App, it cant be solved there.
-
@marius-ciclistu You will need to look here first, and then go down into Android land: https://github.com/ubports/qtubuntu-camera
-
I would be very happy to see improvements to the camera app on OpO!

Ok. Thanks.
-
@Moem It will happen when wwe move it to Android 7.1 base. Work will start shortly
I got my OPO free now for porting... -
@Flohack That is great to hear, I will wait patiently and cheer you on!

So why is it listed as full working device (full orange bar) in here https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/
-
@Keneda Well details. Also the other devices have issues that we think are minor. I think there is actually no device that doesnΒ΄t have this or that glitch. Also N5, FP2 and OPO come from a time when we were still far away from this rating system. Thats smth we added recently. And so we moved all existing devices in as fully supported. You might question this, but in fact it makes not so much difference. At least for the current usebase it seems acceptable
-
Also video capture does not have a working flash. My plan is to see how the flash is triggered from battery settings and then see why the option from video recorder does not work.
-
I would really wait until we are there with the Halium-7.1 port. I can confirm that flash works there, zoom and focus as well Just was excited to take the first shots with this port and finally the camera is all good I think
Let me come back to this after my holiday. I will then provide some test images you can install. It has a WiFi issue right now, leading to superslow transfers. But this is probably fixable. Everything else works nice
-
Ok. Thanks. There is no rush. Happy vacation!
PS. I turned flash on from battery. I opened camera. The flash was switched off. I made foto -no flash. I closed camera. The flash was off but the button from battery settings was on.
