[Question] Tweaking firefox in libertine to make it usable with touchscreen
-
Introduction
Hi,
I have nexus 5 (hammered) and nexus 7 2013 (flo).Unfortunately morph browser doesn't support add-ons e.g. UBlock origin, privacy badger, privacy possum. Also it's good to be able to run many desktop things on UT Device. That's why I decided to play with firefox in libertine.
Questions
- Is it possible to tweak firefox (in libertine) to use it comfortable with touchscreen?
- Do audio and video playback work?
- Can I prevent Firefox suspension and listen something from e.g. YouTube?
- Can I force it to default load mobile version of sites e.g. m.wikipedia.org instead wikipedia.org
- Is there possibility to enable acceleration in app?
- Does it work properly with system keyboard
Solutions
- Small interface size - Install libertine tweak tool from openstore to set size and scrollbar.
- No touchscreen compatibility - install addon scroll anywhere and set it to grab and drag for best touchscreen compatibility.
- Slow Rendering* - In theory - follow this guide to enable faster sites rendering however you should see @arubislander post to understand why this it won't work
- Force mobile sites - install addon
- Audio and video playback -
- Keyboard integration -
- Acceleration in app -

You are searching for Libertine Tweak Tool.
Firefox can force mobile sites only either as an add on or in preferences.

As stated before, using the
Libertine Tweak Tool
available from the Open Store, allows you to set gui sizing and large scroll bars for apps in libertine containers, that make them much more usable mobile form factors. Also - installing theScroll Anywhere
extension and setting it for "Grab and Drag" behavior allows scrolling via touch for Firefox. Firefox unfortunately still will be much slower and less responsive than Morph is on UT.Best regards,
