I cannot find in the file manager the location of notification sounds or ringtones. Are they actually available as files?

          Try in /usr/share/sounds/ubports/ringtones/ and /usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo/

@CiberSheep Thanks @CiberSheep , I'll have another go tomorrow. I'm really struggling with the pinephone at the moment and I've always been useless at navigating in ubuntu, terminal etc! Seem to forget things quicker than learning them these days, hi-ho.
The reason I asked is kind of academic because I solved my dilemma by simply making a recording of the sound I wanted and used that.

@CiberSheep Thanks again; I got there in the end.
              Location was: /usr/share/sounds/ubports/notifications/

Off topic, how did you add a "SOLVED" tag? Thanks!

@nebulom Shhhh, don't wake the mods! In one's original post there is a box called "Topic Tools" with drop down menu. I think the idea is to mark post as a question when posting first time, then solved or whatever.
